Training reminder for members…… The Wednesday night sessions in Mary Immaculate College are continuing with one hour of Turbo coached by Vinnie Gleeson and an hour of strength and conditioning coached by Kevin Grant. If you have your own coach then maybe this is not for you but if you don’t then these excellent, club subsidised sessions are not to be missed ! Vinnie’s turbo session is based on heart rate, cadence and gear selection whereby you can closely monitor your fitness progression . He also offers loads of practical cycling tips for racing, time trial and road training in general. Then straight into Kevin’s S&C hour. This begins with a warm up of running skills and drills . Then there are circuits including plyometrics etc.,and finishing with core work and stretching, all stuff we would never do on our own. This is perfect preparation for the oncoming racing season. Beginners would do well to avail of these two great sessions.
This all happens from 7pm to 9pm(come 15 minutes early to set up the bike, bring your own turbo) in Mary I , Summerville Ave. entrance, €10 per night.
