For those of you that haven’t heard a challenge was put out by the Limerick Cycling Club to take on Limerick Tri Club in a team time trial at the Nenagh Classic. Even though that event has unfortunately been cancelled, our two clubs with, the support of PJ Mathews have decided to hold a race anyway.
The format is a team of six in full TT set up, the fourth rider over the line is the teams finishing time. It will be a full out race against the clock and should make for a good spectacle. PJ Mathews has been kind enough to sponsor a perpetual trophy that we intend to make an annual award much like the Calcutta Cup within the Six Nations.
The course is running from the Five Alleys Pub near the Nenagh roundabout, heading to Birdhill, turning at the roundabout and back to the Five Alleys, 24km in total. We are kicking off at 7pm this Thursday evening the 5th April.
If you are free and able to lend a hand with a bit of time keeping or marshalling, or fancy popping out to watch the battle take place please be there for between 6:30 and 7pm let us know you are free. Spectators are encouraged to wear their club colours and it would be great to have the support. LCC are keen to take us on in our speciality so we hope to show them how it’s done.
Best of luck to the team that is racing on our behalf and hope to see you there.
