Cork TC put on a fantastic race for their 15th running of the Lost Sheep, which once again was the National Championship event. Set against the stunning Kerry scenery, it is a challenging but oh so rewarding course.
Ross Higgins was first LTC home, starting the event as 3rd out of the water in 28:36 (the swim course on the day was likely nearer 2100M) Ross finished in 4:44:00 for 15th over all. Making their Lost Sheep debuts, Diarmaid Lane broke 5 hours and Stephen Cunneen came home in 5:33
Eugene Keane took Gold on his 65-69AG, while Niamh Yelverton put in a massive PB on the course and was also rewarded with AG Gold. Sinéad Walsh didn’t quiet manage to break her 6 hour target, but took AG silver none the less.
Well done everyone – Noel Higgins, Fergal O’Connor, Richard Chapman, Martin O’Connell, Nessan Geary, Ivan Yelverton, Felix Randles, Pat Mc Enery and Catherine Corby. Only 1 more National series event to go before the Season ends – the Moby Dick Sprint in Youghal on September 30th.
