A letter from our 2016 Race Director, Richard Champan:
Hi All,
Following on from our AGM this is an appeal to all club members to volunteer some of their time to marshal for our Joey Hannan Memorial Triathlon.
We require both experienced and novice marshals who can help out on the 17th April for marshalling in all areas of the course.
My plan so that nobody is over worked is to appeal to the LTC members who are participating in the race to offer their help to build the transition area on the 16th April, and help with tidy up and breakdown of the transition area on the 17th. Then non participants to marshal on the day of the race.
To give you an idea of what is involved in running this event the numbers required for a safe and well run day would be along the lines of 20-25 for transition construction, race day in transition 10, swim 25, bike course 30, run course 25 and the finish line 6. All marshals will be provided with lunch and I hope to have extra goodie bags for you, but no guarantee.
A lot of you have told me that you are willing and able to help us out so if you could drop me an email to confirm your support detailing your contact details and which part of the course you would like to marshal, I will do my best to put you where you would prefer to be. (The swim course is mainly done by the Limerick swimming club so there are limited spaces here).
Please email me at joey_race_director@limericktriathlon.com to confirm your support for the Saturday or Sunday so I can get the numbers confirmed, the more the merrier.
Regards and thanks in advance.
Richard.
