Congratulations to Kristi Hogan, who was awarded the Ciarán Smyth Perpetual Cup on Saturday. The cup is named in honor of Ciarán, whose PJ Mathews business was a long time sponsor of the Club and our races. It is awarded to the person whose contribution to the Hell of the West has made it one of the longest continually run Triathlons in Europe.
Kristi has acted as Race Secretary for a number of years, dealing with the administration behind the race from entries to results and everything inbetween She has answered thousands if queries, countless emails and facilitated all kinds of request with politeness that is not always deserved. No ask is too big, no query goes unanswered. All the while this busy Mom juggles to find time to train, and has given us the last weekend in June for many years.
