On Thursday March 9th we kick off our spring series of seminar which should provide some food for thought for those preparing for the season ahead or looking for an alternative challenge. First up will be Fergal O’Connor who is one of our more active participants in Sprint and Olympic triathlon races and completed Ironman Barcelona in 2015. Fergal will present on nutrition for age groupers. The second presentation will be given by Garron Mosely, our club athlete of the year. Garron has competed in the Ironman World Championships in Kona and will share his knowledge and experience in what it takes to race at an elite level.
On Thursday March 30th Niall Collins, having completed a Masters in Sport Psychology, will present on the power of the mind and how it can be used to improve performance in sport. For those looking for an alternative endurance challenge Feargal O’Callaghan will share his experience in preparing for and competing in what is classified as the toughest footrace on earth: Marathon des Stables. Feargal, S&C Coach with Munster Rugby, has competed in the World rowing championships for Ireland and finished IM Lanzarote and is uniquely positioned to provide guidance on preparing for endurance events.
The presentations will take place in Shannon Rowing Club (located on Sarsfield Bridge) and will begin at 7.30 pm finishing at 9 pm. The events are open to both members and non-members.
