Diarmaid a newcomer to the sport this year gained considerable experience in racing and training, and had shown great improvement across all 3 disciplines achieving great results in the National Series
What is your sporting background?
Main background is in Karate. I have been practicing since I was 10 years old.
How long have you been doing triathlon and how did you get into it?
One year. I attended the TI Annual Awards night in 2013 with my good friend Cathal O’Donovan (duathlete from Cork). I was inspired and decided to give it a go after that!
What’s your favorite discipline ?
Don’t have any real favourite. I love the challenges that they all bring!
Which is your favorite race ?
HOTW – It’s the hardest and most spectacular. The food tent at the end makes it worthwhile!
Highlight of 2015 season?
Finishing the Castleconnell Sprint Triathlon after a hard crash off my bike

What is your preferred pre race food –
Brown rice and baked beans
And post race treat –
eat as much of everything as I can!
