Limerick Triathlon Club had plenty to celebrate as we attended the Triathlon Ireland Awards dinner in Dublin on November 1st.
With standards across all age groups getting higher, our members have done us proud.
In the National Series, Aaron O’Brien finished in Third place overall, and took Age group Silver. Also awarded Age Group NS medals were Rachel Clancy (Eighth in the series overall), Brenda Cosgrove and Michael Ryan.
At National Championship level, Aaron took the honors as the Standard distance champion by winning Hell of the West, and again we were well represented at age group with medals going to Aaron O’ Brien, Colm Turner, Rachel Clancy, Lisa Horgan, Joan Griffin and Brenda Cosgrove.
Middle distance age group medals went to Dave Beary and Eugene Keane, while in the Aquathlon medals were awarded to Deirdre Kearney, Ross Higgins and Liam Liddy. In the Duathlon National Champs it was to Brian Campion and Colm Turner.
In 2014 the Blackwater Triathlon hosted the Munster provincial Championships, where Aaron O’Brien took Silver overall, and there were age group medals for Eoghan Higgins, Nick O’Dwyer, Liam Liddy, John O’Shea, Michael Ryan, Rachel Clancy, Deirdre Kearney and Brenda Cosgrove
Well done to all. The 2015 National Series and Championships will be taking a different format, and we look forward to another great season.
