Our second Club training day was held at UL on Sunday.
The weather wasn’t great in the morning but we had a swim/bike brick first in the 50m pool. After setting up and a triathlon warm-up our main set was 5min swim/10min bike/5min recovery x 5. Then a cool-down.
Breakfast in the Sports Bar was the triathlete’s staple of porridge, toast and coffee.
The second part of the day was a bike/run brick, 10min bike/5min run/5min recovery x 5. Despite the gray skies the group chose to stay outside on the UL track.
The day was attended by 15 members but was opened to all All attendees were extremely happy with the day and would love more of this type of session. But to run these consistently we will need more members to come and join in. This was a hard training day for some, as bit easier for others, and a social day for all!
Next up is a Beginner’s Training Day, aimed at athletes participating in our Joey Hannan Memorial Triathlon, and will help those who will be racing a triathlon for the first time. More experienced Club members who are available to help with the cycle portion of the day are asked to email training@limericktriathlon.com.
