HoTW 2023 Results & photos

Hell of the West 2023 lived up to its name. For the first time on record our swim course had to be reduced due to the blustery conditions. It was a bumpy swim, and once out on the bike the competitors were faced with a strong westerly wind, with little shelter on the scenic Loop Head peninsula.

Ralf Bodamer and Wicklow Tri’s Emma O’Brien emerged the winners, David Higgins and Deirdre Casey in second. Anthony O’Brien and Hilary Hughes ran two of the quickest splits of the day around the Kilkee cliff tops to secure their spots on the National Championship podium for third place.
