It was a busy weekend at Lough Cultra with a range of distances and races on orffer.
On Saturday the first event of the day was the Super Series Draft legal race. In very wet conditions Kirsten Huysammen was pipped at the line taking 4th, while in the mens race Ross Higgins came home in 17th. Both then went on to represent the club in the Mixed Team Relays. In the Sprint Plus (800M/40km/8km) well done to Greg Baxter who took 6th place, Sean Lane and Finn O’Boyle. In the Sprint event Tom O’Donnell and John Culleton took 1 & 2 in their Age group.
In much better conditions Sunday’s Middle distance Gauntlet was won by Achlinn O’Reily (Westport TC/TI HP Limerick), with Garron Mosely in 8th ( 4:53) and Padraig O’Sullivan 12th in (5:05) his first HIM; Liam Butler (5:17) Ed Fahy (5:42) Bernard Loughlin (6;12) & Graham Butler (7:02). Our only female in the event was Andrea Cullen who finished 10th female (5:58)
In the Standard Distance Aoibhe Reidy was 4th female, with Brendan Naughton, Martin O’Connell, Paddy Rowsome and Angela Robertson also racing. The Robertson girls were all out – Abbey, Hannah and Emma all too part in the kids events as did Sarah Collins McAuliffe.
