What a busy weekend of racing action – well done to everyone who raced – recovering Ironmen, improving rookies and NS points chasers….
Two teams represented us at the inaugural Club Mixed Relay Championships at Belvedere House in Mullingar on Saturday, with the team of Kirsten Huysamen, Diarmuid Lane, Carolyn Hayes and Aaron O’Brien coming home to take Silver in an exciting race. Our second team of Lynne Algar, Luke Lyons, Elaine Yelverton & Richard Chapman combined youth with experience and were 7th of the 25 participation teams. Fantastic to see Aaron back in a Trisuit after a difficult year. The second place finish earns a place at the European Club Mixed Relay Championshipsin Banoyles Spain on September 3rd! The full TI race report is here and Richards version on our website. Thanks to Lynne for co-ordinating
Closer to home there was National Series action in Ennis. Lisa Horgan delighted to take the win here (one better than last years second place) and was closely followed by Murna Griffin O’Malley who took third, Rosin Doran was 17th.
On the men’s side first home for LTC was Liam Liddy in 9th, Dermot Hanrahan in 11th and Fergal O’Connor in 27th. Lots of NS points in the bag.
Junior racers were also in action – well done Alex Stewart, Darragh Horgan, Sophie & Neils Keane who did us proud.
At the Nenagh TC Lough Derg Sprint Ailbhe Dempsey is having a great season and came home 2nd, with Dan Shanahan 18th and Bronagh Le Gear 1st Junior female.
