Weekend results
What a super weekend we just had! Spring has really sprung as the 2016 triathlon season got underway.
At Nenagh TC’s North Tipp Sprint on Saturday we had some great results with Lisa Horgan placing 3rd and Elaine Yelverton 1st Junior. Diarmaid Lane was the first LTC man home in 22nd while Mike Ryan got an AG win. Well done to all those who raced – and then came to help with Joey on Saturday & Sunday. Club pride at its best. Running the Joey Hannan takes a huge team effort – Richard, Willie and the rest of the committee, Al LeGear, Eugene Keane, Mark Dempsey & Eugene O’Shea, together with all our marshals did an amazing job. Its fantastic that we can run the race and still have so many of our members participate.
As well as Kirsten Huysamen taking 2nd place in the sprint, we had lots or age category winners. It was super to see people back racing whom we haven’t see for a while and our newer members who had set themselves the target of completing a distance, achieve it. Feargal O’Callaghan, Ger Sheehan and Chris Jones all completed the Marthon des Sables – an amazing achievement.
