A quieter weekend than last, but still plenty of activity:
HardMan Valentia Sprint – what a fabulous weekend for this great race, well done to Niamh Yelverton who placed 5th (1:19:24), Ivan Yelverton, Tony Trehy, Claire Trehy, Jimmy Shanahan and Tommy O’Brien.
Mullaghmore Sprint – well done to Elisa O’’Donovan who completed this race last weekend.
There was plenty of swimming action with Limerick Masters SC hosting a Solstice swim at Castleconnell on Wednesday evening, and the Thomond swim city centre, on Saturday, our own Aaron O’Brien had the fastest non-wetsuit swim of the day.
Well done to too to Niall Moloney and all the participants at the final Shannon Airport Runway Run on Friday night.
Aquathlon Series – the Second of our Club Aquathlons this week. It’s a fun, fast session, great for practicing transitions – as competitive or leisurely as you make it. Next running will be before Kilkee on Thursday June 28th – Sign on at OBB from 1830, swim off at 1900 sharp. A timed 750M swim & 5km run.
The forecast for the week and the weekend is for this heatwave to continue into next week. Keep hydrated and think about some salt or electrolytes for training and racing, and don’t forget the factor 50.
Remember HoTW is our last club race of the year, so if you are racing, please chip in and help after the race to breakdown the transition and clean up – many hand make light work.
As well as HoTW, there are triathlons on Athone and Blessington, the Sheephaven Half in Donegal. European IM Season is underway with IM Austria & Challenge Roth both taking place on Sunday.
Good luck and enjoy!
