IN MEMORY OF OUR FRIEND JOEY HANNAN

Limerick Triathlon Club has organised the Joey Hannan Memorial Triathlon for over 25 years in memory of fellow triathlete, friend, and club member Joey Hannan — a true athlete, ahead of his time, and one of eight in his family. EVENT FORMAT
All races take place on the same day at the University of Limerick: Try-a-Tri/Novice, Junior Tri, Sprint, and Olympic. All swims are in the 50 m UL pool, so no wetsuit is required. The bike and run courses are relatively flat and well marshalled, making the day fast, safe, and very welcoming for new athletes. Distances (typical): Olympic 1500 m swim / ~40 km bike / ~10 km run; Sprint ~700 m / ~20 km / ~5 km; Try-a-Tri ~300 m / ~12 km / ~3 km. LICENSING & RULES
A valid Triathlon Ireland licence (or One-Day Licence) and photo ID are required at registration. Standard non-drafting rules apply. SAFETY NOTE (BIKE COURSE)
The route uses the Old Dublin Road and crosses the railway line. On race day the crossing is covered and a neutral zone is enforced. If training on the route beforehand, please dismount to cross the tracks — they are only covered on race day.
