Fly Shannon Member’s League – Rounds 10 & 11

LTC League after round 10 & 11 Loughrea & Caroline Kearney

 

Loughrea Sprint

Nine LTC members made the trip to Galway. Ross Higgins came home in 7th overall place and 3rd in AG 30 – 34 . There were age group podiums for Liam Liddy, Ed Fahy and Bernard O Loughlin. Shane Cullinane, Rosemary Clarke, Christy Power, Erin Tuohy and Steve Gleeson all successfully completed the race on a successful outing for LTC. Rosemary Clarke was the first LTC lady home taking maximum points. Erin Tuohy took 10 points.

 

Caroline Kearney Olympic

Five LTC members made the trip to Mullingar for the modified Olympic distance event. The swim was cancelled due to water quality concerns and replaced with a 5k run making it a duathlon event

 

Sinead Lynch opened her account in this year’s league with a podium place to finish 2nd lady overall and posting the fastest lady’s bike split of the day. She takes the full 13 points for the league. Niamh Yelverton took an AG 2nd place podium and racked up 12 points. Alan Glover was 2nd in his AG and was first LTC male member home to take the max 13 points. Dan Shanahan was the 2nd LTC member home taking 11 points with Ivan Yelverton taking the remaining 11 points.

 

Ladies League

Aoibhe Reidy still leads the ladies with Murna Griffin O Malley in 2nd and Mary Ryan in 3rd.

Things are heating up in both leagues. The next race up is the World’s End Sprint in Castleconnell which always attracts a good crowd from LTC. The last race of the league is Glin Sprint on September 1st. So it’s by no means over and there are age group prizes up for grabs as well as the overall winners so make sure to register for these last two races. Remember to register as an LTC member to ensure you are included in the points tally.
