Limerick Cycling Club are convening a spin to cover the route of Patrick Sarsfield’s famous ride of August 10-11 1690 during the Siege of Limerick. The route passes through some fairly hilly territory in counties Clare and Tipperary en route to the battle site at Ballyneety (109 km). There will be a stop at the High Nelly in Pallasgreen for coffee (115 km), before heading back to Limerick (140 km) via Boher.
Note: The route is challenging (1,500 m climbing), and only suitable for more experienced cyclists. Riders are required to bring sufficient food and liquids (although, we will stop in Rear Cross at 70 km), and two spare tubes. Also, the route is not marked, so you should upload the course to your Garmin for directions: https://www.strava.com/routes/13658558
