Fly Shannon Members League – Round 5 Results

Another great showing this weekend by LTC members at the Lough Derg Sprint which was hosted by Nenagh Tri Club in the scenic surroundings of Dromineer. With a stiff wind making a challenging swim and bike with a few rolling hills in the run it was the perfect warm up for Hell of the West at the end of the month.

In the ladies race Murna Griffin O Malley continued her excellent form taking another podium finish to finish 3^rd overall and take 11 points. Sinead Walsh and Erin Tuohy took the remaining bonus points and Tess Ryan opened her account in the league with 6 points.

In the men’s race it was a close fought race between Colm Turner and Ronan Costelloe for 1^st place with Colm eventually edging ahead on the run to take maximum points. Ronan’s hard fought 2^nd place was rewarded with 10 points and Eamon Hanley took the remaining LTC placing points after a solid performance. John O Sullivan picks up 2 bonus points for the first Over 40 LTC member across the line.

No change at the top two positions with Bryan Nolan and Dermot Hanrahan heading it up. Richard Roche moves up to 3^rd after bagging some points at the weekend.

Next race up is the highlight of the LTC race calendar with the Hell of the West in Kilkee. Remember this is one of the designated races for LTC members to marshal and you get 8 points in the league if you do. There are two races in July with two options in the Tribesmen Sprint/Olympic distance. I-Tri in Ennis is on the 21^st of July so still plenty of opportunity to add more points to your tally. Please don’t forget to register as a Limerick Tri Club member when entering races.
