This Weeks News – June 18th
It was a busy weekend with 4 Races taking place this weekend
- Lough Derg Sprint – We had a great turn out for this Club League race – with 30 members at this race. Well done to Mai Burke Hayes in the Try Distance. In the Sprint, Colm Turner and Ronan Costelloe battled it out, eating up those ahead from the swim, Ronan hit T2 first, but Colm’s trademark run saw him crossing the line first (1:01:30) with Ronan 30Sec back. Eamon Hanley was 8th in 1:09:18. There were some really strong bike splits, with huge ground being made up by Nick, John, Mike, Tadhg & Noel all in the top 20. For the girls Murna Griffin O’Malley came home in 3rd in 1:09:55, Sinéad Walsh in 6th (1:14:23) and Shóna Keane making her season debut in 8th (1:15:36).
