The newly formed West Clare Triathlon Club put on a very impressive first Triathlon yesterday, and a there was a great turn out of LTC members. Well done to those who were taking on an open water race for the first time.

The ladies ruled the day with Andree quickly eating up a small swim difference to take the lead early on the bike and come home in a very impressive 10th position overall. 'Rookie' Rachel Clancy took her first podium with an ever improving swim and bike to add to her excellent running, and Yvonne McMahon improved on last years outing to Kilrush by taking third - an impressive Limerick podium!

The compeditive mens race saw some fast run splits with Shane Geary and Niall Collins battling it out for 5th and 6th position, this together with Andree's 10th position and Fergal O'Connor in 15th, allowed Limerick to take the team prize (the highest 4 rankings from any club counting) with Ennis tri club and Queens University Tri club tied for second.
